Elysia Ruvinsky, alumna from the USA:

'The Holocaust and Genocide Studies programme allowed me to pursue my own unique interests while motivating me to think critically about my role as a world citizen. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the program, I was challenged to analyse the phenomenon of genocide from different perspectives. Enthusiastic academic staff stimulated my curiosity and encouraged me to explore genocides beyond the Holocaust. This eventually led me to research a relatively obscure yet increasingly important area of genocide studies and expand my own vision. Professors and lecturers were dedicated to student success and inspired all of us to develop a deeper critical understanding of the field.
Following graduation, I put my masters degree to work as an Intern for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and then as a student at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington, USA. I am currently pursuing a career in international humanitarian and human rights law and continue to work on human rights and gender issues.'
