All students applying for a (pre-)Master's programme will need to start their application by submitting an enrolment request in Studielink, the Dutch online system for students applying for a degree programme at a Dutch university.

Important: registering in Studielink does not finalise your application. After registering in Studielink, you need to submit the UvA application form in MyInfo before the deadline that applies to the programme of your choice. Since it may take up to 48 hours to process your registration in Studielink, it is extremely important that you register in Studielink at least 48 hours before the application deadline.

Check your DigiD (before starting in Studielink)

Students who currently live in the Netherlands will need their DigiD to use Studielink. Students who do not live in the Netherlands can use Studielink without a DigiD.

Read the Step-by-step guide to Studielink

Before submitting your enrolment application in Studielink, read the 'Step-by-step guide to Studielink':

Register in Studielink

It is extremely important that you register for the correct title of your Master's programme in Studielink. You can find the correct title you should register for in Studielink on the webpage of the Master's programme of your choice.

Applying for more than one programme

It is possible to submit an enrolment request for more than one Master's programme.

Two tracks from the same Master's programme

  • If you wish to apply for a second track within the same Studielink programme (e.g. two tracks from the Master's in History) you will be able to select your first choice in Studielink and, if desired, a second choice in the UvA application form (see the following step: submit application form). Please bear in mind that your second track-choice will only be processed if you are rejected from your first track-choice. If you are accepted to your first track-choice, your second track-choice will not be taken into consideration.
  • Applying for a selective track? Because selective Master's programmes have an earlier deadline and a selection procedure, it is not possible to choose a selective track as your second choice. When applying for a selective programme, make sure to choose it as your first choice. Selective tracks that are chosen as a second choice are not processed.

We strongly advise you to think carefully about your first and second track choice. Please check the Application & admission page of your Master's programme of your preference to see if it has a selection procedure.

Two different Master's programmes

  • If you wish to apply for a second programme with a different Studielink name (for example a track of the Master's in History and a track of the Master's in Media Studies), please add another Enrolment application/Verzoek tot inschrijving, using the same Studielink account.
  • All applicants holding a nationality outside the EU/EEA are required to pay an application fee of €100 per Studielink enrolment before submitting their MyInfo application form. You will find payment instructions on your application form.
